How does the Hunt work? A new clue appears daily in the St. Paul Pioneer Press for twelve days
or until the medallion is found. The goal is to decipher the clues
and find the medallion, which is worth $10,000 and is hidden somewhere

The medallion used from 1991-2004 was made of translucent blue Lucite and is approximately two inches in diameter and one-half inch thick. From 1952-1957 the medallion was a treasure chest.

The medallion was widely photographed after the 2004 hunt find, so to ensure no duplicates could be made, the Pioneer Press retired the old medallion and auctioned it off during the 2005 hunt (it sold for a whopping $6,000). The new 2005 medallion was also used for the 2006 and 2007 hunts. After the first 2007 hunt, the medallion was once again heavily photographed. Will there be a new medallion in 2008?
